Book Two of Druid Twilight The Loom of Destiny continues the epic journey to first century Ancient Britain, a fictional story set in a pivotal historic time. The key characters, Caedwyn and Brianna, each with long Druidic ancestry, are at the center of a re-awakening of ancient powers that some believe will result in an apocalyptic catastrophe for the world.

In Book Two, the death of King Prasutagus ignites a flame of betrayal that will burn through the lands. Untested Druidic leaders and warriors face the most powerful army in the world. For the Romans, the outcome of war on two fronts will set the momentum of the future of Britain, and indeed, the rest of the world.

And within this military and political struggle lies the personal stories of Caedwyn and Brianna, their companions, and the Elders who continue to struggle with their responsibilities of the present and for the future.

Druid Twilight is an allegorical tale of our times an age of transition in which ancient powers conflict with the emergence of a new way, a new system of beliefs that may either engulf the archaic ways or force their unexpected expansion. Nature, the elements, and even time itself is at play in this intense shamanic narrative.

A love story at heart, Druid Twilight The Loom of Destiny, is a tale of the clash of enormous powers, of betrayal, retribution, and rebirth.

Druid Twilight The Loom of Destiny (Book Two) eBook Gerry Starnes Reviews

This is a general review of both books.

To be honest, I never expected this book to be such a great reading. I knew Gerry Starnes' work as a shamanic practitioner and teacher by his videos on YouTube. His words really touched me, and thus I was curious about his books. But a good teacher doesn't need to be a good writer, and so I thought this would be nothing more than just another nice story to read, at the best. All the more, as I am not specially interested in druidism... I started reading - and couldn't stop until I had read both books within four days.

Druid Twilight is fiction, of course. But the characters are so true in their learnings, development, problems and decisions that they seem universal. Don't get me wrong, the story is well settled in the history of Britain in the first decades of the current era. The Roman invaders are set to destroy the whole druid culture because they recognize it as a hindrance to their exertion of power over the British territories. Two Orders - the male Druid Order and the female Semnothoi Order - have to decide how to pass on their legacy, knowing that the world as they have known it has come to an end. They grow with the challenges they meet and become the makers of their own history and future. But, at the same time, the shamanic practices that they learn and use, as described sensitively by the author, are common to shamans all over the world, even as they are rooted in the specific history of their cultures.

And, there is something else I liked about the book Fiction about historical epochs that have left us little archeological or other evidence often tend to be highly ideological and overbearing, or, romantic and glamorizing. I never had this impression while reading these two books. I would say this is due to the almost tender description of the characters and their unfolding (!). It reflects the humanism of the author.

The threads of the story are finely woven, you'd expect this from a bestseller writer. I am very much looking forward to the next book! I recommend this book to all those who love a great fantasy saga, but also to those interested in shamanism, witchcraft and druidism.
Caedwyn and Brianna continue their epic journey through Ancient Britain. Their Druidic ancestry propels this love story! Their ancient powers are re-awoken.
